I thought of myself while listening to this podcast, because I worked in the mail-room right out of high school too. I am not a black person, but a brown person, thus I can relate to his situation, yet I imagine it was much a harder time in the 1960's during the civil rights movement. Much of my own life, I have been unsure of my abilities; as a result of a learning disability. Moreover, I don't think this is an ethical issue, because the white folks in society had there own advertising methods too. Tom Burrell is a mastermind and still living. I love his quote, "you're not marketing, when not targeting." Burrell made it clear early on that he was destined for higher things. a
